The information included in the EGIP covers all the aspects related to geothermal energy: not only underground data but also information on the economics, regulations, national energy policies, energy production, energy demand, market requests, and social issues.

Functionalities

The EGIP pilot project is supported by D4Science Infrastructure that provides a data infrastructure aimed at facilitating open access, the sharing of data, analysis, processing and mining processing, as well as the dissemination of newly generated knowledge. The EGIP data infrastructure is developed to support decision making in high-level challenges that require policy decisions typical of the geothermal approach.

Data Providers

The EGIP pilot infrastructure handles a wide spectrum of data including documents, geospatial data and statistical data from multiple data providers and information systems. The offered services can be exploited both via web based graphical user interfaces and web based protocols for broad access, e.g. WMS, WFS, CS-W.
