The information included in the EGIP covers all the aspects related to geothermal energy: not only underground data but also information on the economics, regulations, national energy policies, energy production, energy demand, market requests, and social issues.

Functionalities

The EGIP pilot project is supported by D4Science Infrastructure that provides a data infrastructure aimed at facilitating open access, the sharing of data, analysis, processing and mining processing, as well as the dissemination of newly generated knowledge. The EGIP data infrastructure is developed to support decision making in high-level challenges that require policy decisions typical of the geothermal approach.

Data Providers

The EGIP pilot infrastructure handles a wide spectrum of data including documents, geospatial data and statistical data from multiple data providers and information systems. The offered services can be exploited both via web based graphical user interfaces and web based protocols for broad access, e.g. WMS, WFS, CS-W.

The EGIP pilot infrastructure offers services for access to a wide spectrum of data including documents, geospatial data and statistical data from multiple data providers and information systems.

The information included in the EGIP covers all the aspects related to geothermal energy: not only underground data but also information on the economics, regulations, national energy policies, energy production, energy demand, market requests, and social issues.

The platform is not limited to statistically accessing and organizing information: the EGIP structure also aggregates and compares information. EGIP tools, by browsing from a catalogue to a document and from a document to a table or map, let you conduct in depth surveys of geothermal knowledge. Thanks to EGIP you can browse or query maps and obtain information in various aggregate forms such as charts, reports or tables that enable the geothermal information available in its database to be quickly surveyed and compared. Through a catalogue tool (i.e., a search system based on keywords, countries and categories), EGIP provides all the electronic documents of geothermal interest.
